Abstract

726,854. Mops. O-CEDAR CORPORATION. April 21, 1953, No. 10998/53. Classes 19 and 61. A mop comprises a central portion 10 of flexible material, e.g. rubber, formed with a rearwardly-extending central recess within which lies an integrally-formed neck 19 having an opening 22 for receiving the mop handle. Transverse slots 23 are provided in the neck 19 to allow of flexing in a vertical plane. The mop body comprises strands 16 attached to a sleeve 15 which is drawn over prongs 13 moulded into the portion 10, and surrounding a flanged plate 12, retained by a groove 11. In another embodiment, Figs. 7-9 (not shown), the plate 12 is dispensed with, an enlarged flexible central portion being used and being provided with peripheral grooves which engage and prevent movement of the sleeve 15.
