726,456. Spring upholstery. NO-SAG SPRING CO. (GREAT BRITAIN), Ltd. April 20, 1953 [July 19, 1952], No. 10752/53. Class 52 (4). A spring mattress, seat or cushion comprises an assembly of main parallel sinuous springs pre-arched and secured directly by their ends between opposite frame members, one or more of the main springs being supported by one or more auxiliary sinuous springs attached between the ends of the main springs and to a rigid frame member beneath the spring assembly. As shown, an auxiliary spring 8 secured to a bracing element 7 of the frame by a clip 10 is attached by clips 9, 91 to a main sinuous spring 3 at points equidistant from the frame sides 1, 11. In modifications, two auxiliary springs forming closed loops or each comprising a single arm are secured, so as to swivel, on the main spring, the loops being asymmetrically secured on the bracing elements or secured to the main springs at points asymmetric to the ends of the main spring to vary, at different parts, the elasticity of the mattress to give a head-to-foot 'arrangement. In further modifications, the auxiliary springs are at right angles to the main springs and wire of different thickness is used for some of the springs.
