Cross-talk between the channels of a multichannel pulse communication system is reduced by the provision of an electronic shortcircuiting switch, at a point in the transmission channel, which is operated during the intervals between the channel pulses. The gate pulses for operating the switch.may be derived from synchronizing pulses or from the channel pulses or may be transmitted with the channel pulses.
