Abstract

1339990 Multiplex pulse signalling SIEMENS AG 19 April 1971 [10 April 1970] 24815/71 Heading H4L Synchronization in a duplex pulse-information transmission system is maintained by the use of a test signal C regularly transmitted by each transmitter during normal operation, and adequate for recognition of correct synchronization at the receiver, and when synchronization is lost at a particular receiver a request signal A is sent by the transmitter at that end to call up a re-synchronizing signal B, the system returning to normal when this has re-established synchronization. As described applied to a time-division multiplex system having 12 channel groups in each frame R1, R2, ... one bit in each group of each nth frame is used to provide the C signal C-S. The A signal (A-S) consists of an 8-bit word in one channel of each frame and the B (B-S) signal is a similar word. When the B signal has produced synchronization the C signal is reintroduced.
