Abstract

1285223 Interconnection systems TELEFUNKEN PATENTVERWERTUNGS GmbH 8 Oct 1969 [9 Oct 1968] 49442/69 Heading H4K In a TDM system each intelligence signal is preceded by an address signal which is effective at a relevant subscriber station to gate the intelligence signal into the station and the transmission media is fibre optic. The media may be terminated at each end in reflection free sinks, there being one media for each direction of communication (Fig. 1, not shown) or, be terminated at one end by such a sink and coupled at the other end to one or more other media for return transmission (Fig. 2, not shown). Preferably each station is coupled to the Go and Return media at repeater amplifier points. Intelligence signals may be transmitted as modulations on a unique binary address signal or as a pulse code following a binary address. A bell may be rung to indicate the arrival of a message.
