725,381. Drill bits. GUSZSTAHLWERK BOCHUMER VEREIN AKT.-GES. May 13, 1953 [May 14, 1952], No. 13401/53. Class 85 Each rolling cutter holder 2 of a drill bit is connected to the shank 1 thereof by two mutually perpendicular tongue and groove joints a, b, and is fastened to said shank by a weld or other fastening means. The joints a, b extend respectively in transverse and axial direction relative to the shank and weld 6 is applied to the axial sides of the holder. Each cutter 3 is rotatably mounted on an axle pin 5, press-fitted into and welded to the holder 2, and the cutter bearings are protected by an elastic seal so designed that a pressure differential on the seal increases the sealing pressure thereof.
