Abstract

1524914 Boring earth &c SMITH INTERNATIONAL INC 27 April 1977 [14 June 1976 15 Feb 1977] 17525/77 Heading E1F A roller cutter earth boring bit has a journal bearing shaft 30 provided with a shallow groove 58 around its entire circumference, the lower third of the groove 58 (i.e. the load bearing region) being filled with a bearing metal 60 and the upper, unfilled part of the groove 58 being connected by passages to a pressure compensated lubricant reservoir 47.
