1399633 Boring earth &c HUGHES TOOL CO 11 July 1972 [12 July 1971] 32368/72 Heading E1F An auger has rotary cutters 40 mounted on its tapered leading end. Some of the cutters are mounted on spindles 42 fixed in sockets 41 welded in notches 30 on the edge of the auger flights 21 but the leading cutters are mounted in sockets formed in the auger shaft 20.
