Abstract

724,580. Seats. HAMILTON, B. F. March 31, 1953 [April 4, 1952], No. 8967/53. Class 52(2). A swivel chair of the kind having a vertically adjustable seat and mounted for rotation about a vertical axis comprises a vertical rod 11 adjustably carried by the base 10, the upper end of the rod 11 having secured thereto a thrust collar 37 arranged between the two platos 31, 32 of a bracket. This bracket which may swivel on the rod 11 is pivoted about a horizontal spindle 46 carried by ears 45 struck down from a plate 21 secured to the underside of the seat pan 15, a compression spring 50 being provided to pievent the seat being tilted too far backwards on the spindle 46. The back rest is carried by members 25 the horizontal parts 24 of which are slidable through apertures in the sides of the seat pan and in ears 22, 23 struck from the plate 21. Locking pins 29 are provided for setting an adjustment of the back rest. Specification 702,130 is referred to.
