723,161. Taking up slack in electric cables. RUSHWORTH, D. Oct. 22, 1953 [July 23, 1952], No. 18573/52. Class 78 (2). Power is supplied to motor E driving overhead hoist A by cable G, the cable being fed out from supply point F as the hoist advances by spring reels K, L. Additionally the cable is secured to carriage M driven by motor O at half the speed of hoist A so that the cable is fed uniformly. Alternatively, the reels may have motors in place of springs, the motors taking up the slack and driving the reel carriages.
