Abstract
722,450. Ceiling linings. JAMES, R. A. May 1, 1953 [May 7, 1952], No. 11497/52. Class 20 (4). A ceiling comprises a number of panels 1 such as of insulating board nailed at 3, or otherwise secured by fastening means disposed intermediate the edges of the panels, to wooden joists 2 the adjacent edges of adjacent panels being engaged by a strip 5 of metal, wood or plastic material which engages in grooves 4 in the edge portions of the panels, the strip being wholly supported by the panels. The strip 5 may slidably engage in the grooves 4 and the edge portions of the panels may be bevelled. The last panel to be secured in place is slightly smaller than the others so that it can be placed into its final position by bending slightly, the small gap between the panel and the wall being covered when the wall is plastered.
