Abstract
An electrical contact brush consisting principally of carbon or graphite contains a coumarone-indene resin. The resin should have a melting-point between 70 DEG and 150 DEG C. and should be present in amounts of 5-20 per cent, preferably 8-15 per cent. The contact brush may be carbon, natural or artificial graphite, electrographitic material or mixtures of graphite with carbon or metal. The brush may be impregnated by placing it first under vacuum and then under pressure of a 50 per cent solution of coumarone-indene resins in toluene. The brush is then dried and baked, e.g. for 1 hour at 150 DEG C.ALSO:An electrical contact brush consisting principally of carbon or graphite contains a coumaroneindene resin.
