Abstract

721,471. Distributing fertilisers. DEW, C. J. April 27, 1953 [Feb. 7, 1952], No. 3245/52. Class 69 (3). Apparatus in which a water supply to a nozzle or other distributing device is by-passed through a container to pick up fertiliser or other material contained therein, the mixture being then passed to the distributer, includes a container 1 supplied via a valved inlet pipe 5 fed from a pipe 6, and a flexible outlet pipe 15 connected to the pipe 6. A strainer 14 is connected to the container outlet and valves 16-18 are connected as shown. The valve 18 controls the supply of the mixture to the distributer, and by adjustment of the valves 16, 17 a required quantity of water is passed through the container, and by closing valves 16, 18 and opening valve 17 water is fed back through the pipe 15 to flush the strainer. During flushing, a lid 9 and the combined strainer is removed and the flushing-water discharged outside the container. Specification 521,991, [Group II], is referred to.
