Abstract

720,934. Winding cops. DIETZ, W. April 28, 1953 [April 28, 1952], No. 11729/53. Class 120 (2). A cop-winding frame is provided with mechanism for retracting the vertical winding spindle 1 comprising a member 10, 12, preferably actuated by the operator through a pressure plate 11, adjustably arranged on a plate 6 carrying the spindle 1 and guided for vertical movement, the member 10, 12 on being actuated during the operation of the frame being brought into engagement with a constantly rotated cam wheel 13, whereby the winding spindle is withdrawn from the completed cop by means of a positive drive. The member 10, 12, is connected to the plate 6 by a pin and slot connection 16, 17 and by a link 19, whereby it is raised at the front end upon pressure by the operators knee, and is biased towards the inoperative position by the curved plate 11. In a modification, the plate 11 is connected directly to a notched lever pivoted to the back of the plate 6, the notches being brought into the path of motion of a driven pin-wheel when doffing is to be effected.
