720,702. Piezo-electric crystal mountings. KRISTALL-VERARBEITUNG NECKARBISCHOFSHEIM GES. Feb. 13, 1953 [Feb. 14, 1952], No. 4068/53. Class 40 (8). A crystal plate 4 having electrodes 5 silvered on either side is supported by means of a strip of insulating material 6 having longitudinal slots, preferably elliptical in shape, through which the edges of the crystal protrude. The strip 6 is almost as wide as the base of the housing 1 and may be in the shape of a flattened U (as shown), inverted V-, M-, W- or diamond-shaped. The strip may be supported by the base 1 or clamped to the leads 2, 3. In the latter case the clamps are connected to the electrodes 5 by means of thin wires. The edges of the crystal plate may be chamfered.
