Abstract

578,290. Piezo-electric crystal mounttings. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., THOMAS, L. M., and MORSER, A. H. Oct. 20, 1944, No. 20401. [Class 40 (v)] A piezo-electric crystal plate 10 has electroded major surfaces, each of which has a silver spot 11 to which is soldered the apex of a V-shaped thin wire 13, the limbs of which are attached to supports 14. ' The two V-shaped wires may be in the same plane or they may be at right angles. Alternatively, one of them may be replaced by a single wire soldered to the silver spot 11. Fig. 3a shows a form of wire in which coils 15 are included to increase the resilience of the limbs.
