Abstract
720,540. X-ray tubes. SIEMENS-REINIGERWERKE AKT.-GES. Aug. 17, 1951 [Aug. 19, 1950], No. 19470/51. Drawings to Specification. Class 39 (1) A supporting member for a rotatable electrode such as the rotary anode of an X-ray tube is secured in a cup-shaped holder, which is itself sealed to a glass part of the enevelope, by a force applied to the electrode. In one form, the electrode and supporting member are pushed into position, an annular groove in the support engaging with a corresponding groove in the holder. In another form, the electrode and support are temporarily locked together by a rod passing through a bore in the electrode, and the assembly screwed into the holder. The securing of the electrodes and support in the tube is thus established without the use of heat, which would cause the previously degassed electrode to take up further heat.
