Abstract
720,250. Delivering liquids by gas pressure. METAL BOX CO., Ltd. Oct. 6, 1953. [Dec. 16, 1952] No. 31896/52. Class 102 (2). [Also in Group XXIX] A liquid product dispensing device comprises a valve body or casing 1 adapted for connection to a container and having a partition 5 separating a valve chamber 7 from an outlet chamber 6, a passage 8, in the partition connecting the chambers and having a valve seat 9 at the' end opening into the valve chamber, a valve member 10 spring-urged against the seat and supported by a stem 11 extending with clearance through the passage 8, a resilient gland 14 clamped to the valve casing and closing the end of the outlet chamber opposite the passage 8, a valve-operating member 17 extending in liquidtight manner through the gland for engagement with the end' of the stem 11, and a restricted orifice 20 for conducting the dispensed fluid from the chamber 6 on depression of the operating member 17. The gland 14 may be clamped by a portion 15 of the casing which is spun over on to the outer face of the gland, the inner face abutting shoulder 16 which is rounded or chamfered at 21 to permit flexure of the gland 14, A flange on the container extends into a recess 4 in the casing 1 and is secured for example by soldering.
