Abstract

1,092,552. Discharging liquids by gaseous pressure. OLAER PATENT CO. Jan. 25, 1965 [Jan. 25, 1964; May 11, 1964], No.3243/65. Heading F1R. In a pressurized liquid container having a bladder 20', Fig. 5, e.g. of natural or synthetic rubber, defining a liquid chamber 40' and a gas chamber 39', the mouth of the bladder is clamped at the gas inlet by means including a resilient member 51 or 29, Fig. 3, e.g. of rubber, which acts to damp pressure forces acting on the mouth of the bladder when the liquid outlet 26' is opened. A spring-loaded poppet member prevents extrusion of the bladder through the outlet. In Fig. 5 the resilient member 51 surrounds a closely-coiled spring 46 closed by a porous tube 47, e. g. of sintered metal. Spring 46 prevents folding of the bladder and permits entry of the gas between its coils. In other embodiments, spring 46 is omitted or replaced by a perforated tube, Figs. 1 and 9 (not shown).
