719,536. Valves. ROBINSON, C. V. May 15, 1952 [Feb. 16, 1951], No. 3820/51. Class 135. [Also in Groups XVII, XXV and XXVIII] A device for applying end pressure to ground joints in glass or like material consists of a spring clip of generally hairpin form with the ends of the limbs 6, 7 terminating in part loops 2, 3 substantially coaxial with one another which are respectively adapted to be sprung over the respective parts of the joint to each take a bearing on a convenient part thereof, the clip being sufficiently resilient to enable it to apply end pressure to the joint. The clip is adapted for holding together joints in articles such as a ball and socket pipe joint, a turn-cock or a bottle stopper. The end pressure is supplied by a loop joining the limbs 6, 7. The loops 2, 3 may be unequal in size and one may be inset if desired. In a modification, the limbs 6, 7 may cross over.
