718,496. Spinning mules. COLE, L. Dec. 21, 1951 [Sept. 22, 1950], No. 23235/50. Class 120(2) In place of the usual counterfaller chain connecting a quadrant on the counterfaller shaft with the corresponding weight lever, an adjustable, tomposite, non-resilient stay rod is employed so that the final setting of the counterfaller wire relatively to the spindle point may be effected after the quadrant has been set, provision being made for locking the quadrant on the counterfaller shaft in the adjusted position. The quadrant 25 is locked by a screw 25a, which may be turned only by a special key. A chain 34 attached to the quadrant 25 is connected to a screw-threaded rod 26 screwed into a sleeve 28 threaded at its ends in opposite directions for altering the position of the rod 26 relative to a rod 27. When an adjustment of the sleeve 28 has been made, locknuts 31, 32 maintain it in position. A washer 35 formed with a semi-spherical head to enter into a correspondingly shaped opening in the weight lever 19 is held in position by nuts 36, 37.
