718,316. Locking rods. BUSCH-JAEGER LUDENSCHEIDER METALLWERKE AKT.-GES. June 18, 1952 [June 21, 1951], No. 15383/52. Class 80 (3) [Also in -Group XXXVII] An indexing or positioning mechanism for the rotary shaft of an electric switch, comprises a rotary member having an odd number of seatings disposed around its periphery, a first spring-urged latching member engaging one of the seatings and a second spring-urged latching member engaging two adjacent seatings generally opposite the first seating. In Fig. 1, the rotary member 2 is polygonal and has one sideface 1 engaged by a plate 3 under the bias of a spring 4 and side-faces 6, 7 engaged by a plate 8 which embraces the angle between them. In Fig. 2 (not shown) the rotary member is a sprocket and the first latching member has a roller engaging in one tooth space, whilst the second latching member has two rollers engaging in two adjacent tooth spaces.
