Abstract
526,187. Toothed gearing. BUGGE, Y. March 9, 1939, No. 7704. Convention date, March 11, 1938. [Class 80 (i)] Step-by-step rotation of the driven wheel 41 is effected by a mutilated wheel 43 having one or more teeth 31 for engaging the wheel 41 and intervening smooth surfaces 44 against which adjacent teeth of the wheel 41 lock during its stationary periods. Clearances 15 are provided on each side of the tooth or toothed band 31. N teeth on the wheel 43 produce a rotation of the wheel 41 through an angle occupied by N + 1 teeth. A one-tooth advance is effected by making the wheel 41 an intermediate wheel gearing with a further wheel twice its size, this wheel being integral with a further wheel of the same diameter as the wheel 41. Smooth movement of the surface 44 between the stationary locking teeth on the wheel 41 is produced by the bevelling the tops of the teeth as shown in Fig. 3. Axial movement of the driving drum brings additional teeth into driving engagement, so that all numbers 0-9 may be transmitted to the registering device of a calculating machine, cash control register, value stamping or ticket printing or like machine. Specification 125,974, [Class 106 (i)], is referred to.
