717,707. Transformers. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., and BUCKLE, G. W. V. Feb. 16, 1953 [Jan. 17, 1952], No. 1405/52. Class 38(2) An accessory for extending the range of an A.C./D.C. instrument comprises a step down current transformer with a primary conductor of such resistance that it can also be used as a shunt. The construction of the transformer is such that its transformation ratio is substantially independent of the previous passage through its primary winding of the direct current. The primary conductor comprises resistance strips 1 with ends embedded in terminal blocks 2 mounted on a base 3 carrying a synthetic resin casing of two halves, one of which, 12, only is shown, which casing holds the secondary winding 10.
