Abstract
631,991. Phase difference and power factor measurements. EVERETT, EDGCUMBE, & CO., Ltd., and GRUCHY, J. N. DE. Aug. 7, 1947, No. 21671. [Class 37] To measure phase difference, e.g. power factor, on a permanent magnet moving coil, the current in a load Z is applied over transformer CT to a network of resistances R1, R2, rectifiers X1, X2, resistances R3, R4, and condensers C1, C2, and the voltage is applied across R5 over a network of resistances R6, R7, R8 and non-linear resistances R9, R10, so that the voltage across R5 is independent of variations of the voltage applied to the load-circuit Z. To make the circuit additionally independent of current variation, the output winding of the transformer CT may be connected to R1, R2 over a series resistance and a shunt non-linear resistance, (Figure accompanyirig Complete Specification, not shown).
