Abstract
717,362. Cathode materials and processing. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd. May 19, 1952 [May 18, 1951], No. 12605/52. Class 39(1) The cathode is coated with a mixture of alkaline earth carbonates suspended in cellulose dissolved in ethylene glycol monoethyl ether acetate. The mixture may comprise a suspension of 130- 260 grams of alkaline earth carbonates, preferably the triple carbonates, in 115-145 ml. of nitrocellulose dissolved in " Cellosolve Acetate" (Registered Trade Mark) The triple carbonate may consist of barium 38.6 mol per cent, strontium 31 and calcium 30.4, and the binder of 2.1 kg. of nitrocellulose in 147 kg. of acetate to give a specified solid content and viscosity; 17.04 litres of the binder may be mixed with 30 kg of the carbonates and ball-mixed for 20 hours.
