Abstract

Class 4 A kite comprises a plurality of longerons 1-1, 2-2, 3-3, constituting a frame on which the main lift surfaces D. E, are supported by transverse brace members 4. 5 to extend. symmetrically in the same plane, said frame extending in the lower direction to support at least one stabilizer S<SP>3</SP> which comprises panels arranged in the form of a triangle with the base in the plane of the main lift surfaces and the apex downwardly directed in normal flight. In the preferred embodiment, three longerons are used, and two additional stabilizers S<SP>1</SP> and S<SP>2</SP>, of which one side panel may be smaller than the other to prevent side slip. The framework 2-X-X-X-X-X-X- 3 round the lift surfaces may comprise hollow rods connected by a string threaded through them under tension. The yoke is attached to the longeron 1-1 at G and W.
