Abstract

1308377 Kites BLADON & PUCKRIDGE PTYLtd 13 July 1970 [14 July 1969] 33928/70 Heading B7W A pack from which a kite may be assembled includes at least two light wooden frame members 5, 6 with slats 10 at their ends a thin sheet 12 of polythene or polyvinyl chloride forming a sail, a number of rubber -rings 7 which are used to secure the corners 14 of the sheet 12 in the slots of the frame members 5, 6 into which they are forced, as shown in Fig. 6, and means for securing a saddle string b and flying string a to the kite. In assembling the kite, frame member 5 is secured across member 6 using rubber rings 7 and bowed by attaching a string to its ends, and the sheet 12 is then stretched across and fastened to the frame with rings 7. In another embodiment, Fig. 10 (not shown), the sail forming sheet extends between spaced parallel frame members and has triaangular wings on each end to the apices of which a saddle string is attached by means of slotted connectors and rubber rings. A bird-shaped kite may be constructed from a similar pack including three frame members.
