Abstract

716,797. Hose couplings. STRAUS, M. Sept. 19, 1951 [Dec. 11, 1950], No. 21993/51. Class 99 (1). In an end fitting for a reinforced hose in which the reinforcing layer 2 is separated at the hose end from the inner and outer layers 1, 3 and clamped between the conical surfaces of a sleeve 4 and clamping ring 7, the said surfaces 4a, 7a are stepped or serrated. The ring 7 is clamped by a bush 6 screwing into the sleeve, and an insert 8, carrying a union nut 10, is screwed into the bush. The end of the layer 1 is compressed between converging tapered surfaces 9 on the bush and insert.
