Abstract

The wet-fastness of dyeings of acid dyestuffs on superpolyamide textile materials is improved by after-treating the dyed material with an aqueous solution of one or more anionic surface active agents of the class of sulphonated derivatives of naphthalene. Specified agents are the disodium salt or other salt of dinaphthyl-methane disulphonic acid (the condensation product of naphthalene-2-sulphonic acid with formaldehyde) and the trisodium salt of naphthalene trisulphonic acid. The solution preferably also contains an acid, e.g. formic acid, and the treatment is preferably effected at an elevated temperature, e.g. 100 DEG C. Examples are given.
