715,355. Pneumatic lifting-jacks. BRANICK, C. E. Feb. 18, 1952, No. 4288/52. Class 78 (3) A pneumatic jack has a lifting crutch 16, 21 pivoted at 15 to the piston rod 12 and carrying rollers 20, 24 which engage parallel guide rails 17, 18 secured to the cylinder 8. An anti-friction roller 25 mounted on the top of the cylinder engages the piston rod during operation. The jack is raised by means of a tyre inflating compressor which is applied to a tyre valve 31, Fig. 6, connected through a conduit 26 with the bottom of the cylinder; lowering of the load being effected by operating a control rod 34 which lifts an exhaust valve 35. During operation the jack is supported on a base structure 1, but to facilitate movement to a new location, wheels 7 and handles 40, 41 are provided.
