Abstract

694,956. Lift trucks. ELECTROHYDRAULICS, Ltd. June 13, 1951. [March 23, 1950] No. 7360/50. Classes 78 (iii) and 78 (iv). In a lift truck, in place of the usual fork, the lifting carriage supports a pair of gripping plates 21, 23 which are movable into engagement with the load by synchronously operable fluid pressure jacks 10, 11. Plate 21 is secured to slide bars 20, 24, whilst plate 23 is secured to slide bars 22, 27 ; these bars being guided for rectilinear movement only in guideways formed by T section bars 9, 12. To permit the load to pivot relative to the plates, semi-circular members 34, 35, secured thereon, are provided to engage the load. In various modifications (not shown) these members are replaced by rotatable balls, spindles or thorns.
