Abstract

Class 103(1) [Also in Group XXX] In conveying apparatus having a wheeled truck 1 carrying reversing rollers for an endless conveyer belt, the truck being traversed between limits on a rail track 18 to vary the discharge point of material carried by the band, means for braking the truck comprises a pivoted catch 27 provided on each wheel 22 of the truck, the catch resting during the rising motion of its pivot on an adjustable stop 28 and on the downward movement of its pivot overbalancing so as normally to miss a lever 24 for operating a release cam 26 for a brake shoe 20 acted upon by spring means 19. Excessive speed causes catch 27 to engage lever 24 so as to release the shoe 20 which thereby engages the wheel 22 to stop the truck.
