Abstract

713,083. Cyclone separators. SEBAC NOUVELLE SOC. ANON. July 4, 1952 [July 6, 1951], No. 16107/51. Class 23 A cyclone separator comprises a casing 8 forming a separating chamber, a cylindrical member 5 arranged co-axially within the member and having a series of narrow, circumferentially spaced, longitudinal slots 4, each having one of its walls contiguous with a curved or faceted surface 5a forming an extended lip of the slot, a tubular member 10 arranged coaxially within the cylindrical member to form an outlet from the separating chamber and an annular space 2 between the tubular and cylindrical members, and an inlet 1 opening into said annular space. A plate 3 closes the lower end of the annular space. The cylindrical member is formed by a series of vertically arranged stayes of aerofoil shape in cross section spaced circumferentially to form narrow slots therebetween. A dust outlet 6a at the bottom of the chamber is closed by a screw cap 6b. In a modification the lower end of the tubular member is formed as a Venturi nozzle.
