Class 120(3) An apparatus for blending fibres comprises a cylinder 14 divided by partitions 18 into sectorial compartments, a shoot 10 supported by a ring 12 and extending into a delivery arm 16, plate 20 closing the bottom of the compartments, and a delivery shoot 24. The plate 20 and cylinder 14 are mounted for rotation upon rollers, and means are provided for rotating the arm 10 and ring 12. The shoot 24 may be attached to the plate 20 and a gate 21 provided in the plate so that by bring- ing the gate beneath each compartment in turn its contents may be discharged into the shoot, or the plate 20 may be provided with a number of gates corresponding to the number of compartments and the shoot 24 mounted for separate rotation to come beneath each compartment in turn. Fibre is discharged from the shoot 24 to a pair of rolls 22, a shredder 26 and a suction apparatus 28. Fibres are discharged into compartments from the arm 16 whilst the arm and cylinder are rotated relatively to one another.
