Abstract

712,329. Valves controlled by auxiliary valves. BRITISH MESSIER, Ltd. Aug. 26, 1952 [Sept. 5, 1951], No. 21025/51. Class 135 A piston control valve 14 having a pressure fluid inlet 12, working connections 17, 18, and exhaust passages 19, 20 leading to an outlet 13 is loaded in the upward direction by a spring 15 and movable in response to variations of pressure in a chamber 16 having supply and exhaust nozzles 36, 37 with which coacts an armature 30 mounted between pole piece extensions 27, 28 of a permanent magnet 22 and carrying windings 31 by which it may be polarized in either sense to move towards either of the nozzles. A spring 35 balances the force on the armature due to the flow from the nozzle 36. Instead of the armature being arranged between the nozzles as shown it is stated that it may have an extension at right angles which overlies upwardly pointing nozzles.
