712,326. Vehicle bodies. BRITISH TRANSPORT COMMISSION. Oct. 29, 1952 [Aug. 20, 1951], No. 19591/51. Class 108(1) A self-supporting bus or coach body comprises two side frame units 10, having interconnected pillars 11 and provided with box-structures 14 the units being secured by a front bulkhead 15 and by transverse floor, members 17, 18, 25 and 26. At the forward part of the body are two cantilever extensions 37 secured to the front bulkhead 15 and to the pillars 11 at 42. To the forward ends of the extensions 37 are secured brackets 44 provided with front suspension abutments 54 and a transverse engine support 43. The inner edges of the boxstructures 14 are secured to longitudinal members 19 secured between the transverse members 17 and 18 thus enabling the box structures to take the rear suspension abutments 36.
