Class 125 (3) A plug stopper of plastic or rubber for use with a screw cap 8 comprises a cylindrical plug 1 closed by a hemispherical portion 2, the upper portion having a flange 3 integral with a tongue 5 which is folded down over the flange on closing the bottle and is used for removing the plug when the cap is removed. In a modification the stopper has no tongue but the flange 3 has two annular slots to allow gripping for removal and in a further modification Fig. 9 the flange 34<SP>1</SP> has a concentric annular slot 35<SP>1</SP> of great annular width to allow lifting of part 36<SP>1</SP> of the flange.
