Class 52(5) A skirt or like hanger comprises two arms 1, 2 pivotally mounted on a hook 4 so that when the ends of the arms are engaged in a skirt band the hanger can become wedged in position, a stop 6 fixed to the lower end of the hook limiting the downward movement of the arms. To increase the range of sizes of garment with which it mav be used the arms may be telescopic or a third arm 24 may be pivotally mounted off centre so it may be used with either arm 22 or arm 23. Alternatively, multiple arms as shown in Fig. 5 may be utilized. Two arms 43, 44 of different lengths are provided on pivots 41, 42. The two arms riot reouired for use are turned to lie along either side of the hook 45. In a further construction, Fig. 7, the arm 62 is provided with a pivot which may be inserted in one of a series of apertures 63 and held in position by springs or by a nut. Alternatively, the apertures may be in the form of notches, Fig. 10. The shank 95 passes into one of the notches 92 and cannot be removed therefrom until the arm is .turned through 90 degrees when the pivot pin can move along the slot 91.
