Abstract

711,283. Fishing vessels. LEHMANN, G. April 18, 1952 [April 28, 1951], No. 10006/51. Class 113(2) In a fishing vessel having a main deck with clear deck space 23 close to the water level for handling of the net and a trunk deck 1 (Figs. 1 and 3) or semi-shelter deck above the main deck and adjoining said clear deck space and arranged for receiving and sorting the catch delivered from the net, the trunk or semi-shelter deck constitutes a superstructure above the main deck and has hatchways 2 for delivering sorted fish to a closed fish processing space 3 located below and formed between side walls 14 of the trunk or semi-shelter deck. In a modification (Fig. 6) the semi-shelter deck 24 extends from a side wall 25 to the outer plating 26, giving a clear deck space 28 and a processing space 27. The trunk or semi-shelter deck 1, 24 has a gutter 15, pivotally mounted bulwarks 22, and extensible and retractible scuttles 11. Outriggers 18 carry gallows rolls 16, 17 at the trunk deck level. The arrangement of fore and aft drag lines is described.
