Abstract
1289486 Unloading storage enclosures UPPER LAKES SHIPPING Ltd 22 Dec 1969 [14 May 1969] 62439/69 Headings B8B and B8E Material which remains in a ships hold 10, after the greater proportion has been discharged due to gravity on to a conveyer 32, is disturbed by transverse and longitudinal movement of a grab bucket 56 such that all the remaining material lies on the floor 12. The bucket is then used to grab and deposit this material on to the conveyer. The hold preferably has compartments (24), Fig. 3 (not shown), and individual shoots 34 discharge on to the conveyer. The conveyer extends along the hold to apparatus (not shown) at the forward end of the vessel, where the material is raised to deck level. The bucket 56 is part of a gantry structure having hinged ends 46, 48.
