Abstract

A herbicidal composition containing an alkali or alkaline earth metal chlorate and sodium borate is prepared by spraying an aqueous solution of the chlorate and sodium borate into a stream of hot air. By "sodium borate" is intended any known sodium borate, e.g. borax, sodium metaborate, sodium pentaborate and any combination or mixture of these with boric acid. The preferred proportions are 1 part by weight of chlorate to 1.5-3.0 parts by weight of sodium borate. The compositions of the invention are in finely divided form and are alleged to be amorphous. Specification 477,586 is referred to.
