Abstract

Finely-divided potassium bromide is mixed with either boric anhydride, metaboric acid or orthoboric acid to provide a non-caking potassium bromide, suitable for use in photographic developers. 0.05-10 per cent, preferably 0.5-1 per cent by weight of the non-caking agent, based on the weight of potassium bromide may be added. In the examples, amounts of 0.05 per cent and 1 per cent of boric anhydride and 0.5 per cent of metaboric acid and orthoboric acid respectively, produced compositions unaffected by conditioning for a week at 120 DEG F. with intermittent cooling and reheating.
