Abstract

A composition for a roller-skate wheel, or at least the rim-portion thereof, having a hardness of between 80 and 100 as measured on the C-scale of a Shore durometer, consists of a binder comprising 18 to 40 per cent. synthetic rubber, e.g. "Bana" N, "Bana" S and "Hycar" (Registered Trade Marks), 22 to 45 per cent., heat-hardenable resin, e.g. phenol-aldehyde resin, e.g. "Durez" resin (R.T.M.), 15 to 54 per cent. reinforcing filler such as zinc oxide, 6 to 10 per cent. friction-influencing agent such as rottenstone, tripoli, garnet dust, together with vulcanizing agents, e.g. sulphur, accelerators, e.g. benzothiazyl disulphides and tetramethyl thiuram disulphide and plasticizers, e.g. stearic acid.
