707,918. Photographic developing apparatus. KALLE & CO., AKT.-GES. Oct. 3, 1951 [Oct. 28, 1950], No. 23063/51. Class 98(2) A machine for developing diazotype prints by heat has a rotatable hollow metallic cylinder, means for heating the surface of the cylinder, a number of parallel metallic endless travelling bands running right next to one another, and passing over the outer cylindrical surface of the cylinder to maintain prints to be developed in close contact with the cylinder during rotation thereof, guide rollers for the bands, and guide means on or attached to at least one of the guide rollers and adapted to prevent the individual bands from lateral displacement. The heating means may be within the cylinder or may be arranged in an arc facing a part of the cylinder not being traversed by the band. As shown, the cylinder 1 is either driven directly or caused to rotate by the bands, and may be supported on the outside at both ends by small rollers. The cylinder 1 may be heated either by the internal heating units 2 or by the external heating units 3 provided by a screen 4. The bands 5 pass over driven rollers 6 and over the roller 7, which is provided with thin guide discs. The bands 5 may be of metal cloth of bronze or stainless steel. The heating may be effected by electricity, gas, or steam. Specification 544,702 is referred to.
