Abstract
553,508. Photographic developing apparatus. HALDEN & CO., Ltd., J., and HALDEN, J. Nov. 27, 1941, No. 15288. [Class 98 (ii)] Apparatus of the kind in which prints are developed by bringing them within the influence of an absorptive surface from which developing gas or vapour emanates comprises a roller 4, having a covering as of woven asbestos, woven or felted textile or fibrous material, or cast material such as plaster of Paris or unglazed earthenware, one segment of the roller forming a closure to a chamber 7 in which moist gas or vapour is generated, e.g. from liquid 5 heated at 11, and the remaining segment being enclosed by a cover 7a providing a channel through which the prints are fed from entry 9 to exit 10. The Provisional Specification refers to constructions in which an endless blanket takes the place of the cover 7a, and in which the rollers makes contact with the liquid 5 either directly or through a pick-up roller.
