Abstract

Rusting of reinforcements in concrete is inhibited by applying thereto a concrete slurry containing sodium benzoate, or by including sodium benzoate in the whole concrete mass. The sodium benzoate may be dissolved in the water, i.e. 2-10 per cent. of sodium benzoate, or by adding as a powder to the cement.
