Class 69 (3) A chamber 1 of oval or kidney shape is suppUed with air from a duct 53, and the air is discharged from a peripheral slot 2 formed between a flange 22 and an outer plate 21. The lower part of the air chamber is blanked off by a plate 3. Nozzles 44 on a liquid supply pipe 43 are positioned adjacent the slot and discharge liquid into the air stream. Pairs of shutters 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8, 9 are angularly adjustable about hinges 10, 11 and 12 respectively, and divide the chamber into sectors. Each shutter cuts off the supply of air to its sector and to the corresponding portion of the discharge slot, so that the air stream may be directed to either side or upwardly, or as a combination of lateral and upward discharges. Secondary shutters 34, 35 are pivoted on the shutters 6, 7, and are urged by springs to follow the line of contour of the chamber walls. The shutters extend through the slot in the form of levers 13-18, and the shutters 4, 5, 8, 9 are clamped in position by nuts 23 and clamping plates 20. The shutters 6, 7 are clamped by nuts 29 on bolts 30 which extend through a slot 31 in the plate 21. Hinge blanking plates 40, 41, 42 and a curved deflector plate 51 are provided. The device is mounted at the rear of a tractor, the power take-off shaft of which drives a pump and a fan.
