705,762. Continuous-casting machines. AKTIEBOLAGET SVENSKA KULLAGERFABRIKEN. Oct. 13, 1951, No. 24039/51. Class 83 (1) In continuous casting by melting metal in a container 1 and passing it through a cooled mouthpiece 4 directly connected to the outlet 8 of the container, the metal is kept fluid until it has entered the mouthpiece by causing it to pass the line between outlet and mouthpiece at an increased speed by means of a magnetic field. This is produced by arranging a number of coils 7 about the outlet 8, the coils being connected to a polyphase supply so as to produce an additive moving impulse in the molten metal as shown by the arrows. The coils 7 may also heat the metal by an inductive effect, or separate inductive heating coils may be added.
