Abstract

705,193. Clocks. JUNGHANS AKT.- GES., GEB. May 31, 1951 [March 21, 1949], No. 12989/51. Class 139 A pendulum locking device for time mechanisms comprises a retaining element having a part thereof adapted to receive the pendulub bob, a pivotable catch lever, one end of which is of forked construction so as to be able to move said bob into engagement with the retaining element, spring means urging said pivotable catch lever in a direction away from the pendulum bob, a toggle linkage for operating the said pivotable catch lever, means for limiting the movement of the said toggle linkage both in the direction of releasing said catch lever as well as in the direction of bringing the catch lever into engagement with the pendulum bob, and a rotatable sleeve-like member surrounding the winding arber of the time mechanism for operating the toggle linkage. The catch lever 5, 5a, Fig. 1, is pivoted on a pin 4 and is normally urged away from the pendulum bob 3a and the retaining element 7 by a spring 6. The arm 5c of the catch lever is connected by a pin 8 and slot 9a to a lever 9 pivotally connected to a lever 11 rotatable on the shaft 12. The levers 9 and 11 form a toggle linkage between the catch lever 5, 5a and a key rotated sleeve 13 attached to the lever 11. The lever 11 has two projections 11a and 11b which co-operate with the lever 9 to limit the movement of the catch lever in its freeing position and in its pendulum locking position, Fig. 1.
